Ascending triangle
An ascending triangle is rising support meeting flat resistance; a close above resistance usually continues the rise, a close below support signals weakness.

How the ascending triangle works
Buyers step in at higher and higher prices while sellers hold the same ceiling. Each test of resistance absorbs more supply.
It is more often a bullish continuation pattern; a break below the rising support line is the bearish variant.

- Target
- The triangle's widest height, projected from the breakout.
- Fails if
- A close back inside the triangle soon after the break.
